Other general tips!
Feeling nervous about venturing into the open water? Just getting into Open Water Swimming or Triathlon? We know it can be a bit daunting at first, so we've designed this course to improve your confidence so you can go it alone either just for fun or to complete an upcoming race with ease. We'll improve your swimming technique, help you manage any anxieties you might have and you'll come away feeling inspired to jump in every week. All courses are coached by top UK open water swimming coach Annie who's helped many swimmers from beginner to regional and national level.
You must be able to swim 100m freestyle/front crawl continuously to complete this course. If you need to improve your stroke technique and endurance over the winter/spring please also book into our Weekly Group Sessions or have some 1:1 Coaching first.
"I tried swimming on my own in the lake and it was a disaster. I had a panic attack and was pretty much rescued by the safety boat. A friend and I came on the beginner skills course and we were both blown away by Annie's calm coaching nature. She was so supportive in helping build my confidence. It was great swimming around others as I had no idea I would find that so nerve wracking. By the end of the course I was confidently completing loops on my own. Thank you Annie I couldn't have done it without you!
Private Coaching Also Available
1:1 or private group sessions can be a great way to improve your speed in a short space of time. Often your swim fitness is there but it's not translating into fast Open Water swim times. This can be for a number of reasons; poor technique, slow arm turnover, over kicking, not sighting frequently enough and bad pacing. We have coached numerous Regional and National Open Water Swimmers over the past 12 years.
